Explore Technical Architecture

Engineering Significance

Structured around energy supply, power allocation, and mission phases, this system architecture targets hybrid power and range extension. Guided by high energy efficiency, low emissions, and extended endurance, it establishes a framework for future aviation propulsion.

Architecture Composition

01. Takeoff & Climb Mode

High-energy-density aviation-grade cells deliver transient high-power output and multi-redundant safety protection.

02. Cruise Mode

High power-to-weight, ultra-quiet range-extender generator set provides continuous energy replenishment with ultra-low fuel consumption to extend flight range.

03. Descent & Energy Recovery

Intelligent variable-frequency all-in-one motor controller and high-power-density aviation electric motors deliver robust propulsion.

04. Ground Taxiing & Auxiliary Power

Full-aircraft system coupling and joint tuning enable peak aerodynamic efficiency and mission deployment for long endurance and heavy payloads.

Operating Modes

The WHOLEFIELD aviation hybrid power system delivers intelligent power flow control across flight attitudes, optimizing overall efficiency and extending operational range.

01. Takeoff & Climb Mode

Dual-source full-power output. The traction battery system and range-extender generator operate in parallel, delivering maximum transient thrust for safe, rapid climb performance.

02. High-Efficiency Cruise Mode

The range extender operates stably at its optimal economic operating point to power the main propulsion motors directly, automatically recharging the battery pack with surplus power to maintain optimal energy storage.

03. Landing & Energy Recovery

The primary range-extender engine idles. Utilizing descent thrust modulation for electromagnetic braking and partial kinetic energy recovery enables quiet landings while storing energy for subsequent taxiing.

04. Ground All-Electric & APU

Taxiing energy is supplied entirely by the traction battery. The range-extender unit remains on standby, enabling zero-emission, low-noise taxiing while acting as a backup APU for onboard loads.

Core Range-Extender Power Unit

WHOLEFIELD proprietary high-power-density aero-derivative turbine range-extender unit integrates high-pressure common rail, turbine energy recovery, and an ultra-lightweight generator to deliver robust power for distributed hybrid-electric propulsion.

SAF Compatibility (Sustainable Aviation Fuel)

The system supports seamless switching to 100% Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), which can reduce net carbon emissions across the aircraft's entire lifecycle by up to 80%.

Low-Emission and Combustion Control Technology

A built-in advanced low-NOx combustor with injection management raises system thermal efficiency by more than 15% over engines in the same class, while harmful particulate emissions are far better than civil aviation standards.
